The Flores de Mayo

May 2, 2012, I went to St. Joseph’s Cathedral to visit the Blessed Sacrament. I noticed that aside from the flowers which were decorated during the fiesta last May 1, the cathedral has already placed decoration for the celebration of “ Flores de Mayo”. The word  MARIA is being placed in front of the altar and they had decorated flowers below it.  This one month devotion in the month of May is in honor of the Blessed Mother. Most of the participants in the Flores de Mayo are young girls within the parish.  This tradition is one way also of influencing young ladies establish  good moral virtues in the society.
