Simple Salad Me

9 comments:
There are many recipes that we can select for special occasions like Christmas. Simple or complicated recipes, it depends. But for me, I'd rather choose the simple ones, one that I've always tasted every occasions since childhood.

Macaroni Salad. This is our first recipe for the celebration of Christmas. Me and my mom made this. And this is my first time to make it. I thought it is hard to make this recipe but it was pretty easy then. First, we need macaroni (any brand or shapes will do) and boil it with water until it softens. Next, prepare the ingredients (fruit cocktail, raisins, cheese, cream (Nestle), mayonnaise, condensed milk, and Kaong). We will just have to mix it all with the cooked macaroni. Make sure to have the right taste, not too sweet-not too bland.

The ingredients that we used are ready to mix.

How about you? Did you make something special this Christmas? Could you share with me your recipes?

Lesson in Life

No comments:
A wise man sat in the audience and cracked a joke.
Everybody laughs crazy.
After a moment he cracked the same joke again. This time less people laughed.
He cracked the same joke again and again.
When there is no laughter in the crowd, HE SMILED AND SAID:
You can't laugh at the same joke again and again, but why do you keep crying over the same thing over and over again?

Inspiration from top geniuses...

In life, there are ups and downs. But one thing is directional -  before we go up, we have to face down first. We might face a lot of hardships and difficulties that make us think that this could be the end of our lives. We lose everything we have. But always remember that we live for life is like that. Never end like that and most of all never give up for that. Make that as your strength to continue strive more. If you are failing, just keep on going. What's your masterpiece?

4 comments:

God gave us life to live, and to discover our purpose here on land. He gave us all the goods in life and one of those goods is our God-given talent. Some of it is still hidden, waiting to be nurtured and discovered and some are on the other way around. Each of us has a talent that will let us learn the true meaning of life.

My sister has a good talent in drawing. I used to do tracing on her drawings when I was in kindergarten. I could still remember the first drawing I’ve traced from her, that was Taz, a cartoon character from Looney Tunes. After that, I learned that tracing is not an art; it was somewhat like of a copycat. So I tried to do the real drawing. Had a lot of masterpiece, most of it were asked and some were given as a form of gift from me. As of now, I only held 3 masterpieces; all from the anime, Death Note.

Near (N) -- a demure and dark type but the wisest.

Lawliet (L) -- The most popular detective but because of being wise, he gambled his life.
Lawliet (Right) and Light (Left) -- wise vs wise

My drawings may not be like of an expert, but still I find it as one of my achievements in life.. A million thanks to the people who encouraged and taught me to draw, especially  to my sister, for being the first teacher and To God, for giving me this special talent. :)

My In-Laws at Lost Horizon Beach Resort

No comments:
During the visit of my Sister in Law and company from Canada last March 2012, they told us that they will check in at Lost  Horizojn Beach Resort in Panglao, Bohol, Philippines.  My husband told her sister that we were not so familiar with this place.  When they come to Bohol to visit us, we were lost to find this resort.  What we did is to ask from people whom we passed by where this resort is located.  Finally, we found it.  I was really surprised because it is strategically located in front of the white beach in Panglao Island.  My sister in law and her mother in law and my two niece enjoyed their vacation so much in this place.  They have their picture taking inside the swimming pool for their remembrance of this once in a life time adventure.

Our Duties to GOD

No comments:
Always bear in mind that you were created, redeemed and sanctified by God and therefore are His property. You will gladly do all you can to know, love and serve God. Rejoice to see His will done in you and through you, although what is done may not be according to your own desires. Never desire anything, however good it be, except in accordance with God's will. To will what God wills is heaven on earth; but remember that God's will must be done in the very way God wants it, not in the way you want it. Perform all your actions in accordance with God's will.

To please God ought to be the main motive of all your actions. Never say: "What will the people think?" but always: "What will God think?" if I do this.

"Life is a basketball"

2 comments:

"Basketball isn't my thing but everything changed when my brother taught me how to shoot it in a basketball ring."

I learned how to play basketball when I was in my junior year in high school, we won the first prize and got my first gold medal. It was very memorable and one of my happiest moments in life. A year after, we won the last prize. Losing the game may be a shame but my name is one of the fame. Those were the years i had the best of my teenage days in high school. :)

A freshman year in college, I was like culture shocked because my life in high school was very different compared in college. Because of the adjustments, I wasn't able to join the basketball team at that year. Year 2011, sophomore year, I was then able to join the team in our course. Joining the team ain't easy, there's a "try out" or elimination of players and the captain ball selects the best. Skilled and experienced, I was qualified. And so as now, a junior student, I'm proud that I'm still on the team in our course, College of Nursing, and in every yearly Intramurals, we'll be matched to other courses in our college school. I gain 2 medals in college, we won the 2nd place (silver) in 2011 and 3rd place (bronze) in 2012.

This is me.. :)

All in all, I have 3 medals in the field of basketball and I'm still hoping for more. Seeing these medals reminds me of a great achievement in life because of one great teacher, my elder brother and my number one supporter, my eldest sister. :)

Achievements in basketball life.

What is Active Listening

1 comment:
Active listening is a manner of questioning and responding to a person that promotes full disclosure of opinions, feelings, emotions, and beliefs. This form of assessment can take time, but the information gathered allows for planning the most effective intervention methods. A few key questions can result in a wealth of information. Active listening is nonjudgmental and uses open-ended questions that elicit feelings and thoughts rather than "yes" or "no" responses.

Wow Cat !

No comments:
The picture below is the cat of my first degree cousin in Canada.  They really love this cat the fact that this cat sleep with them in bed.  I have three cats at home. The two were kittens and one big matured cat. We all love them as they became part of my family.  The cat in the picture looks like my kitten at home.  I feel like kissing this cat if only I can hold him.

A Very Nice Fondant Cake

No comments:
A very nice fondant birthday cake.  In 2010, I saw a fondant wedding cake. I was able to eat a slice of it during the wedding of my sister in law.  It was my first time to see a real fondant cake at that time.  They said, the fondant wedding cake of my sister in law was so expensive as it has a lot of decorations.  I wish I can taste it again in some future occasions.

Guidelines for the Prevention of Substance Abuse in Adolescents

No comments:
1. All chemicals are harmful to the body, at least to some extent (alcohol, for example, causes liver disease).

2. Relying on drugs to give you courage to solve problems (or help to forget you have problems) prevents you from learning to handle life situations and maturing.

3. To bottom line of drug abuse is that you have the final say: you are the only one who can stop chemical dependency from happening.

4. Whether the drug is inhaled, swallowed, or injected, it still is absorbed and enters your body.

5. Despite their social acceptability, alcohol and nicotine are drugs. A month of daily use of either can make you addicted.

Feast of St. Michael the ArchAngel

No comments:
September 29 is the Feast Day of St. Michael the Arch Angel.  I attended a Holy Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral in Tagbilaran City at 7:15 a.m. It is an English Mass.  In our little chapel, we pray also the nine days novena in honor of St. Michael. The towns that celebrated the fiesta for St. Michael is very far from my place.  So, I cannot just easily went there. Last night, I never thought my family was able to receive a dinner invitation of one of our family friend as they were bringing food coming from Jagna, Bohol who was celebrating the Feast for St. Michael. I was so happy I was still able to partake the food during the Feast of St. Michael.

At Man Made Forest

1 comment:
Sweet memories of my in laws during their picture taking at Man Made Forest in Bilar, Bohol, Philippines.  They were so excited to see the place during that time.  The trees were purposely planted in this area.  That is why it is called Man Made Forest.  Most of the tourist dropped by in the said place to experience the cool  breeze coming from the woods.

Two Cute Water Falls

No comments:

Picture taken during our river cruise last March 2012.  The two cute water falls is one also of the attraction during the river cruise. Watching these two cute water falls will keep you cool and refreshed while inside the floating restaurant.  The boat stayed for five minutes before we went back to the terminal area of the floating restaurants. It is worth visiting the place.

My Nursing Student

She is my youngest daughter taking up nursing course. I am happy that she is devoted in her studies even though she has stopped schooling for two years because of financial difficulty.  With the little help from her eldest sister and our little income, we are praying she can finish her course in 2014 God Willing.  I am posting here their picture after hospital duty in one of the district hospital in our place. She is third from right.

Pretty Flower Arrangement

No comments:
I really like the vase color with the flowers.  This vase is hard to work with but these flowers went well.  It will really inspire us. Because of this flower arrangement, I became interested with Ikebana.  The picture was sent to me by my friend who is now living in Iowa, U.S.A.

Whale Watching

22 comments:
Last March 2012, our family together with the families of my brother and sisters in law were having our whale watching at Panglao Island, Bohol, Philippines.  We were so lucky that on our way to Virgin Island, we met the dolphins. My brother in law took a picture of it.  There were a lot of pump boats who were sailing during that time and it was hard to chase the dolphins.  When there were only few boats left, the dolphins showed to us. Everybody were so happy to see the them. At least, we did not missed it.

I was thankful to him he sent me this picture.  It is worth for a picture frame.

According to my sister in law, this view is near Piazza Grande in Switzerland.  This picture was taken by her three days before the "Locarno International Film Festival".  Nice plants and colorful flowers.  This is worth strolling around. She was so very lucky to be in this place.  There are a lot of nice views worth visiting.

Beautiful Landscaping in Switzerland

1 comment:
This picture was sent to me by my sister in law last May 6, 2012.  She said she took it three days before the "Locarno International Film Festival" in Switzerland.  More info about this film festival can be read at Wikipedia. I asked her if the red flowers on the ground were real ones and she said they are for real.  I really admired the super trimmed landscape.

The Euphorbia Plant

No comments:
I was attracted to these flowers when I saw them in one my neighbors house.  I have also planted this kind of plant at the back of our house to serve as fence because it is thorny.  My friend gave me this variety of plant sometime in 2005.  At first, I was not attracted to this plant because of the thorns.  But because of the pink flowers on its top, I just accepted it and learn to like it.  Until now, they still bear flowers.

Kindliness

No comments:
Good Manners are the greatest charms one can possess.  We should try to cultivate them. Money cannot buy them. There is one way to obtain good manners, and that is by constant practice.  Always use good manners, then you need not be alarmed when among strangers, for it will be perfectly natural to be polite and respectful to all.

Honoring St. Monica

No comments:
In the new calendar of the Roman Catholic Church, August 27 is the Feast Day of Saint Monica. She is the mother of Saint Augustine whose Feast Day is celebrated on the 28th of August.  Based on my research, she is the Patron Saint of Wives and Abuse Victims.  Her life story is very inspiring as a mother, as a wife and also as a daughter-in-law.

Beautiful White Bougainvillea Flowers

No comments:

I was so impressed of the beautiful white bougainvillea flowers when I passed by a house on my way to the city.  I know this kind of plant is no longer common in most of the houses in our area.  Only few planted this plant because of the many varieties of new flowers that are being introduced at present. I knew also that this is a very sensitive plant when it is still on growing stage.

Miniature Chocolate Hills

No comments:
The other day, I went to Tagbilaran City to buy some grocery items in the supermarket.  Before dropping to the mall, I visited first the St. Joseph Cathedral.  After visiting the church, I passed by plaza Rizal going to the heart of the city.  Then, something catches my eye.  It was the miniature chocolate hills at the center of  the plaza.  The small hills were already brown as the bermuda grass have already weathered.  The grass did not survived because of the intensive heat of the sun for almost a month already.  I was attracted to the small hills as it depict the name the chocolate hills.

Our Coconuts Near Our House

No comments:
This week, we keep on cleaning our surroundings as the ground is still dry.  Then, we noticed our coconuts near our house.  They already started to produce small coconut fruits. My husband decided to clean the upper part of the coconuts in order to prevent rodents to attack them.  He is using an improvised stair made of bamboos so that he can reach the upper portion of the coconut trees.  For me, it is not so easy to do the job.  I am thankful my hubby has experienced this kind of work in his home place when he was still single.

Light and Shadows (Shared Readings)

No comments:
Every painting has its lights and shadows for contrast. Life is like that--with its lights and shadows.
The day has its night and day, its light and darkness, its storms and its balmy days. Life is like that. Consolations and desolations are the law of life.

If you were busy being glad, and cheering people who were sad, Although your heart might ache a bit, You'd soon forget to notice it.

One of the Tropical Plants in Our Place

No comments:
On my way to my brother's house, I saw a plant full of orange flowers.  This is one of the tropical plants in our area.  The said plant is not purposely being planted as it grows only along the barrio road.  However, I saw this kind of plant in some parks in the municipal areas of our province.  The flowers are so attractive once you go near to the plant.  Unfortunately, I do not know yet the name of this plant.

The Decorated Altar during the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

No comments:
In the old calendar of the Roman Catholic Church, August 22 is the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. However, in the new calendar, it is the Feast of the Queenship of Mary.

In our Chapel, we celebrate August 22 as the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  The picture below is a small altar depicting a small heart shape case where the image of the Immaculate Heart of Mary protruded in somewhat like a coin.  I was a witness to this miraculous happening since 1985 until the image of the coin gradually formed as the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  The caretaker of this coin received messages from the Blessed Virgin Mary thru dreams.

Lourdes Grotto In Simala

1 comment:
One of the Sacred Place I went to travel and see in Cebu was this Grotto in Simala. Many people go to this place because it is miraculous. I love this "grotto" of Mother Mary. It is a nice place of praying. The little cave where teh statue of the Mother Mary is, shelters her beautiful icon. There were green plants and pink flowers on the view. Many people including me prayed to God with the Blessed Mother's help on this "grotto". This is one of the so many "grottos" you can find in this place. This is the particular "grotto" that I liked. I felt so refreshed and comfortable when I reached to her image. May God bless me and my loved ones.

Build Your Faith - Key To Effective Prayer

8 comments:
When someone tells you "Keep Praying" or "I'm praying for you", do you focus on the "Act of Praying" rather than the person telling you to do so? Everybody is not perfect, but Prayers do miracles. It can even move a mountain. Praying is not just an act of reciting prayers, but rather an act of submission to God's presence, to believe with all your mind, heart and soul that God is truly the only One God, The Father Almighty. This is one important factor in Building Your Faith. Here are other factors that will also help you build your faith, according to Ruth Seebeck:

  • The more you speak, read and listen to the Word, the stronger your faith becomes. Hearing builds faith. When you speak, you hear yourself talk. When you read, you hear the words in your head.
  • What you hear and absorb is what you will eventually speak … and what you will receive. Prayer is only as effective as what is in your heart.

The Story About Beyond Human Power

No comments:
A servant of the Emperor Charles V was dying after many years of faithful service to his master. Because of his long service, the Emperor had a special affection for him, and filled with sincere grief, came to see him for the last time of his life.
"My dear friend," said the Emperor, as he stood by the bedside of the dying servant, "you have served me so  devotedly that I only wish I could make you some return. Is there anything at all that you desire? Let me know what it is, and I will see that you receive it."
"Yes," said the dying man. "There is one favor I would like to receive from your hands."
"What is it?" said the Emperor eagerly.
"Give me one more day of life--just one more day."
The Emperor's face grew sad.
"Alas," he said, "I am considered to be one of the most powerful monarchs upon this earth, but what you ask is entirely beyond my power to give. Only GOD can grant  and sustain the gift of life."
With a deep sigh, the dying man said:
"Then it is plain to me that I was foolish in not spending more time in the service of GOD than in the service of an earthly king."

An Uncontrolled Event

1 comment:
Last August 13, 2012, I told my husband that I am going to withdraw our money from our Bank as we are going to pay the tuition for midterms exam for my youngest daughter who is taking up nursing course. This was the money sent by my eldest daughter from the United States.  Since this amount is the only money that we have to pay for the tuition, my hubby told me not to withdraw it until August 15 because he has negative thoughts that I might be snatched along the way.  But I did not listen to my husband because I want to pay the tuition the following day August 14.  When I went to our bank , it was already past 10:00 in the morning.  Many depositors were already there who form their line going to the ATM machine. When my turn came, I inserted my ATM card.  I have transacted for my balance inquiry then after knowing my available balance, I proceeded to withdraw my money.  I was surprised for the long processing of the ATM machine.  Then afterwards, the ATM machine has displayed that it was out of order and it advised that we go to other banks with megalinks.  Since my plan is to withdraw the money on that day, I planned to withdraw over the counter with our bank .  Unfortunately, they cannot transact any withdrawal as it was OFFLINE. So, what I did, I went to another bank. When I inserted my ATM card, it says my account is not existing.  Then, I inserted my ATM card again, the it says my available balance was already P8.34.  My heart beats fast and was so worried why all my money was gone. Then, I went back to our Bank which is only a walking distance from the other bank which I planned to withdraw my money. I told their staff of what had happened to me when I transacted with their ATM machine.  The lady told me that it is an uncontrolled event.  That will really happened when the ATM machine is OFFLINE and you have already transacted for withdrawal. The ATM machine will automatically deduct the amount of your withdrawal. She told me that I have to file for ATM complaint so that my money will be returned back to my account.  It will take 3 to 4 days for the processing.  I felt relieved of what she had told me.  At least, my money is still there.  My problem is where to secure for the payment of the tuition.  Fortunately, I met my best friend in one of the malls in the city at 2:00 pm ,who is a devotee of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on that day of August 13.  I related to her of what had happened to me during that day.  She really pity me and we went to her depository bank to withdraw her money of P4,000 and she let me borrow the said amount so I can pay for the tuition.  I was so thankful and I promised  to pay her as soon as my money will be returned back by our depository bank.  In the morning of August 16,2012, I checked my account with our Bank through the internet.  I was so very happy that my money was return back in my account.

Chair Balancing Exhibition

This picture was taken last June 2012 during the Acrobatic Entertainment in our place.  Many people attended during the affair.  The Ad joc Committee of our Parish was the one sponsoring this show for the construction of our Church.  We thought only few will watch the show but unexpectedly the whole basketball court were mostly occupied by both kids and adult.  This is my second time to watch this kind of entertainment.

Did You Know?

1 comment:
1. Uncomfortable feelings that go on for a long time can affect the way a person's body works.  For example, the heart beats more quickly  when a person is upset. Some people lose their appetites when they are upset. Others overeat. You can protect your health by learning to handle uncomfortable feelings.

2. Your "funny bone" is not a bone at all.  If you bump your elbow at a certain point, you feel a tingle up and down your arm.  You might say that you hit your funny bone. What you really hit was a nerve in your elbow. This nerve is just beneath the skin and is not protected by bone or muscle.

Our Town Patroness - Our Lady Of Peace And Good Voyage

2 comments:
This is our very own patroness in our town and Her altar on our church, Nuestra SeƱora de La Paz Y Buen Viaje or Our Lady Of Peace And Good Voyage in Delapaz, Cortes, Bohol. After the lenten season, on the month of Flores de Mayo, our patroness is dressed up with pure white dress with the Our Lady Of Lourdes Medal and Belt. The Novena attendees and the many of our town's kids offer their colorful calachuchi flowers in honor of the Blessed Mother. I like the design of Her altar that is so simple. Sometimes the gold color of the paint makes it like look like a castle. Many people visit in our church because of her great miracle. There was a time that the statue cries real tears when people touch Her statue. It is an honor of us living in our place that she's our beloved patroness who will bring us closer to God's blessings.

The Road to Success..

2 comments:

It been a year now that since I graduated on my college program, took the license examinations, passed it and now a professional, looking for a good future. At first, it was very hard to accept that until now, I still don't have a job. Many people are now professional nurses but majority are unemployed because of limited slots of work on hospitals. When I was in college, I thought that I could find work easily, get a good income to support my family, but now, I realized that it is very hard to find work especially that there are lots of people competing to have the same kind of work. I thought of applying jobs not in line of my program but my conscience tells me to think about the past on how I worked hard in my school days to finish my it rather than ending up of something not in line with it. I kept on praying to our Lord he will guide me which road I should take for my future. I prayed the Holy Rosary almost everyday. And one time, I finally decided that I will pursue my career at all cost. I know this will be a tough decision. Right now, I have been working as a nurse volunteer near our place. Sad to say, it has no income but you will only gain experience from it. I have to increase my patience to do this for many months until I get promoted to be one of the paid working nurses in this hospital that I'm volunteering on. Hope you guys can spare some prayers for me too.

The Story of A Blind Girl

1 comment:
There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend.  He was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, "now that you can see the world, will you marry me?"

The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying:

" Just take care of my eyes dear."

Online Business Services to Enhance Productivity and Savings

No comments:
In today's fast-paced world, rapidly evolving technology allows for an increase in productivity at a shorter period of time. For most people, there is never enough time as they go from one task to the next, trying to get things done as efficiently as possible. But what if efficient isn't cheap? Is there a way to be at par with those who have ample money to spend on highly innovative technology that allows them more accomplishments in less time?

Knowing the Archangels

No comments:
I am so very thankful to my mother because she gave me a small booklet that contains the novena of the Archangels. When I was in college, I usually used this booklet especially in praying to the archangels. Whenever I pray the Holy Rosary, I also used this booklet as a guide. Because of my mother, I had known seven archangels, which I do believe, that because of their guidance to me and my beloved ones with the mercy of our dear Lord, we are blessed & safe everyday. I do believe that angels protect us from any harm and trouble. With them our faith is directed to our Lord. Here are some of the important points that I know about archangels, and everybody should know about this for spiritual health purposes.

  • Saint Michael is the prince of the heavenly hosts, the Commander-in-Chief of all the hierarchies and is usually known as the Angel who defeated Lucifer.
  • Saint Gabriel is the special messenger of God, the bearer of God's secret messages to His chosen ones. He is also the angel who announced to the Blessed Virgin Mary of God's plan to her and to his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Saint Raphael is the healer and guide for the Christian Pilgrim. He is assigned by God to accompany us along the way of our pilgrimage in search of the treasures of real happiness which God has in store for all His children.
  • Saint Uriel, the archangel of divine justice. He has with him his weighing scale that reminds us of justice that weighs according to its true worth whatever good we do and whatever wrong doings we commit in relation to God, to our neighbors and to ourselves.
  • Saint Sealtiel, the archangel of worship and contemplation. His angelic purity transforms the love and worship which we mortals give to God.
  • Saint Jhudiel, the bearer of God's Merciful Love. God's mercy is infinite and through Saint Jhudiel, God's mercy is reached in every one of us, every moment of our life and without it, we would die. With it, God provides us the graces we need for our souls and the sustenance we need for our bodies.
  • And last but not the least Saint Barachiel, the guardian and provider of the children of God. He is assigned by God to keep watch of His children, taking care of them always in each of our life.
  • It is very important to know them, especially where you are in need most, so that your prayer will be sent to  God. Remember that through the archangels, our lives is greatly directed to God in His kingdom. Lord Jesus Christ is the way, and they are the guide on our way to reach our Lord. With our prayers, it makes our hearts, bodies & soul one flesh.

    The Short Monocycle

    1 comment:
Presently, I am a member of the adjoc committee for the construction of our church.  One of our fund raising is to sponsor an acrobat show on June 9, 2012 at 7:30 in the evening.  Before the show, the acrobat group decided to have a parade of their monocycle at the highway as part of their advertisement. I was assigned to accompany them during the parade.  I was able to take a picture of one of the cyclist who rode the short monocycle. I was really impressed of this young boy who has this ability.

    The Awesome Flower

    No comments:
I had a walk last week at the plaza Rizal in Tagbilaran City.  Fortunately, I saw a lot of plants being displayed for sale to the public.  I was attracted of one plant.  Supposedly, I had to ask what's the name of this plant as the flower is very unique for me.  Unfortunately, the owner was not around. I just  took a picture of it.  I waited for thirty minutes because I wanted to buy this plant but the seller was not around. Since I am also in a hurry to go home because it is almost 12 noon , I just left without buying the plant.  Maybe it is not yet time for me to buy this flower.  I hope that next time, I can own this kind of plant in my residence.

    The Angel

    5 comments:

After a busy schedule in the first week of May, I decided to rest for a while in our house.  In the afternoon of May 7, I noticed that we have no more chocolate drink and milk to use for the following day. So, I decided to go to the city to buy this food stuff. It was already 4:30 p.m.  On my way to the city, I keep on thinking to drop by the cathedral since I was not able to attend a Holy Mass in the morning.  I arrived at the cathedral five minutes after 5 pm.  I did not know that there was a Holy Mass which started at 4:30 p.m.  I still continue to go inside to look for a seat.  When I sit down during the homily, I saw a young girl with an outfit of an angel.  She was beautiful and I took a picture of her.   She was one of the angels during the Flores de Mayo.  I can remember when my three kids were at her age also.  All of them became angels during the Flores de Mayo in our Parish including my only son.  The parishioners were surprised of my son being an angel.  It was their first time to see a boy as an angel during the Flores de Mayo.  I told them, the leaders of the Angels in heaven are all male.  They stand corrected of what I said.   From that time on, many young boys became interested as angels during the Flores de Mayo.

    The Flores de Mayo

    1 comment:

May 2, 2012, I went to St. Joseph’s Cathedral to visit the Blessed Sacrament. I noticed that aside from the flowers which were decorated during the fiesta last May 1, the cathedral has already placed decoration for the celebration of “ Flores de Mayo”. The word  MARIA is being placed in front of the altar and they had decorated flowers below it.  This one month devotion in the month of May is in honor of the Blessed Mother. Most of the participants in the Flores de Mayo are young girls within the parish.  This tradition is one way also of influencing young ladies establish  good moral virtues in the society.

One of the Songs of the Holy Face

    No comments:

St. Joseph is the Patron Saint of Tagbilaran City Parish,  Province of Bohol.   His feast day is celebrated every May 1 for St. Joseph as a worker.  I attended the Pontifical Mass at the Cathedral  which started at 9:30 a.m.   It was a two hour long celebration of the Holy Mass officiated by the Bishop of the Diocese.  One thing touches my heart.  The Cathedral Grand Choir beautifully sang one of the songs of the Holy Face.   The title of the song was JESUS MY LORD MY GOD MY ALL.   I would like to quote one of the lines of the song that I like most and here it goes – Sweet Sacrament, We Thee adore.  Oh! make us love Thee more and more.

    God is a Great Provider

    2 comments:

My youngest daughter is taking up summer classes this year.  Her summer subject load is 9 units in nursing course.  Her school tuition reached an exact amount of P11,184.00. I have sold one pig for this and the proceeds was only P9,025.00.  I was really worried where I can get the balance of P2,159.00.  One day, I did not expect  a mail containing a check from the GSIS (Government Service Insurance System). This is amounting to P3,400.00 as educhild reimbursement  from the said office.  When my kids were still young, I get an educational plan for them being a government employee before. This is only very minimal amount but it really helps.  I cannot help to say, GOD IS A GREAT PROVIDER.
