How to Manage Stress

Take Care of Your Health: Eat wisely, exercise regularly, get enough sleep

Accept yourself: Be realistic about your abilities/set achievable goals

Spread out major events in your life: Give yourself time to cope with each event and the changes that follow.

Build family relationship: With love/care/concern, filial responsibility, mutual respect, commitment, and communication.

Make friends: Be considerate, honest, kind, pleasant, tolerant. Don't be selfish, rude, argumentative, always insisting you are right.

Study/train your skill: To prepare yourself for life's decisions/problems and a satisfying job/career.

Manage time well: List the things you need to do, tackle them in order of importance. Always put aside some time for relaxation/leisure.

Make decision wisely: Consider the pros and cons before making up your mind.

Share your problems: Talk to your spouse/friend/supervisor/religious leader. They may be able to put your problem into perspective or suggest some solutions.

Relax: With any activity that relaxes you e.g. a hot bath, exercise, massage, meditation, soothing music, etc. Or use a relaxation technique like deep breathing, or progressive muscle relaxation.

Identify sources of recent stress and seek proper counselling if you cannot solve them.
