How I was able to go to College

After I graduated from high school, I did know if I can go to college. Since I was so eager to push through my education, I told my father that I'm interested to work as casual employee at the Provincial Government Office of Bohol. I was not accepted because I'm just a high school graduate. Then I look for other means. I heard that the Divine Word College of Tagbilaran now Holy Name University are accepting working students. So I took the examination. I passed and I was assigned at the College of Liberal Arts. I did not know that my second degree cousin was the Dean of the Student Affairs Office (SAO). When she heard that I passed as a working student, she took me to be assigned at her office. There were two working students assigned at SAO. My duty is in the morning. All my subjects were scheduled in the afternoon. When I was in the third year, I have heard of a scholarship. This was sponsored by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Education and Culture. I tried my luck. But before I took the examination, I went to the chapel of the school and I prayed hard that I can pass the test. I'm really excited because if I pass the written exam, I have now the opportunity to ride an airplane for the first time. The scholars are assigned in different provinces of the country to assist for the preparation of Project Feasibility Studies for Small and Medium Industries. We were 35 students who took the examination. Only 4 will be taken.

To be continued ...
