Couples corner: Glimpse of our future (Pre-wedding)

My husband and I knew each other through a mutual close friend of my family. He was in his venture to find a woman whom he can spend with his life with. And me, I was in my pure singlehood. I'm serious and no boy friend what so ever. I'm a late bloomer really. My relatives even teased me that I will get married early, and I guess they're right. Anyhow, my Papa is very strict. And my Mama is different from him. She is broad minded about the idea of me to have at least a boy friend someday because she don't want me to become an old lady. By the time my husband wrote his first letter to me, I was in my 19th age. I was really nervous because I even didn't know how to handle a relationship. But then, I didn't give up and time had it's way of space that our friendship bloomed from a rose bud to a full beautiful flower. As we exchange snail mails, email, text messages and calls during those times, flashes of pictures came to my mind. I read marriage books and was so high in my ideals. I observe married couples and their families. Then I thought of doing ballroom dancing together when he told me that he can dance. I thought of bike riding together, me in his back while he drive. I thought of he can fix things in the house like my father. I thought of listening piano music all day because he knows how to play piano. I am even getting nervous to meet his parents and friends because he is more mature than I am and they might look down on me because I'm so young and just a beginner about handling relationships. And then, I keep on dreaming, like we could probably have kids someday. Yay, a mixed breed! Then we could eat, play and pray together. He will be the head, and I will act as a vice president in our family and etc. Geesh! I am too ambitious, don't I? Oh well, it took lots of patience for us to tie our knot after 2 and a half years of getting to know each other. Madali nga lang if I just count it with two fingers, but for us, it's like it has been a long time. Thank God, we survived!
